Just back in the door from a wonderful week’s skiing in Ischgl, Austria. The body (and mind) are a bit jaded at this point but it was more than worth it.
Just spent a very enjoyable few days in Cologne – a city I’ve spent a summer in way back in the day and have very fond memories of – but never managed to get there in the lead up to Christmas when the City is transformed into a Christmas Market wonderland.
alright. too depressed to write much about this now.
we’ve been robbed. again. we should be going to South Africa.
anyway – Theirry Henry robbed us.
FIFA will be delighted.
The rest of the world need to know about the hand ball that gifted France their ticket to South Africa.
It’s time for FIFA to bring in the video replay. NOW
In the meantime, Henry – you should apologise.
Well there’s a blog post title I never thought I’d write as an actual race participant!
So I headed down to the RDS yesterday afternoon to pickup my Race chip and number etc. for the Dublin Marathon on Monday.
Have to say – it’s a really well put together expo. I wasn’t expecting it to be so well organised and informative – you don’t normally get that kind of thing in this county.
Anyway, it’s now less than 24 hours to the big day and the pre race nerves have well and truly kicked in!
Today is all about sitting back, relaxing and waiting….
It’s the damn waiting I think everyone hates in these situations.
You’ve done all the prep and training. You’ve checked to make sure you’ve got everything ready for race. Now you just want to get on with it – but you can’t – you must wait until time catches up with your state of mind – this is the hardest part.
Come 9am tomorrow morning the waiting will be over, the gun will sound and 12,500 nutters will put one foot in front of the other for 26.2 miles.
Good luck to everyone taking part.
The waiting is nearly over.
Ok so I signed up in a fit of madness some time ago to do the Dublin Marathon.
bar a niggle or three, the training is done and now it’s time for a bit of taper madness.

been going there for years.
why does Dublin not have more of these kind of places?
cheap. tasty. fast. good service. consistent.
these guys typify the kind of business that this country needs a lot of more of to get us out of the mess we’re in.
go check ’em now.
ever dreamt you can fly?
well, now you can.
check out this video from some nutjobs in Norway.
not for the faint hearted.
but as the man himself says – if you can ski and base jump, why NOT do it?
well….i can think of lots of reasons but then I can’t base jump and don’t ski very well….
